“Every day there must be something I can't do, otherwise it's boring.” - Monet Robier

Star Gilani is a true dancer and proves something by her movement. She began dancing at an early age but did not ever expect it to be such a big part of her life.

Star has the talent to move flawlessly because she feels that dance is in her heart. Dance has stretched her physical abilities, given her tremendous courage, and helped her become a stronger person all around.

Star Gilani received formal training in classical ballet at the age of 15. She trained for 1 year in classical ballet. She was then motivated to join Color Guard; her High School drill team. She was a part of the dance team for 2 years, one of which she played as a Co-Captain. Star performed with the team, and towards the end of her training was choreographing her own pieces for performances.

Star has trained in Contemporary dance for a year with Sophia Torres, an instructor at Houston Community College. She has been training in Bollywood fusion dance style in Houston for the last 3 years, the dance classes reinforced Star’s decision of enhancing her skills in other dance forms and aided her attendance in the classes with a scholarship.
In the summer of 2011, Star became the Communications Director for Bollywood Blast and began to teach Level One class to kids aged 4 to 6 years old. Star believes that dance is for everyone, and that it is the best way to relieve stress. “The body says what words cannot” is her motto of life.

With a high school diploma from William P. Clements, Star Gilani is currently a sophomore in college. Aspiring to become a Hospitality Lawyer, her hard work, dedication and organizational skills allow her to achieve this goal.

In Oct 2011 she was offered to work with Naach Houston as a communications Director and a Dance Instructor, she is very excited about her involvement with the community through dance.
